1899
Forbes, New South Wales, Australia1
My assumption that the Tom Bootle whom my Dad always talked about and who appears in Dad's WW1 diaries is really William J Bootle was based on there being only one male Bootle about Dad's age. That was until I noticed in a letter(undated) from my grandfather Edmund to Amy which says "Miss Daly knows "Billy Bootle" (Tom) well as he visits the house she stays. Knew the family is at Manly."
Even though this letter is undated I assume it was while Dad was at the war or lived away from home. This is because Edmund refers to yourself(Amy) and Betty a few times but no mention of Dad.
